Why are we hiring?

We are looking for an experienced PHP (Symfony) developer to help to take our clients services to the next level. You will work closely with other Software Developers and Architects across multiple platforms and technologies in the Digital Team to create a powerful set of micro-services that are consistent, highly usable, reliable and performant. Responsibilities include:

  • Write well structured, commented, readable code.
  • Assist in architecting systems and applications.
  • Practice/encourage Test Driven Development.
  • Be proactive in reducing technical debt.
  • Be an active contributing part of an agile development team.
  • Communicate well on both technical and non-technical level.

What are we looking for?

  • Symfony Framework experience a must
  • Solid understanding of design patterns and OOP concepts.
  • Good knowledge of working with ORMs, ideally Doctrine.
  • Good knowledge of building and extending REST API.
  • Service Oriented Architecture.
  • PhpUnit (including mocking), Behat.
  • Relational (PostgerSQL) and non-relational database (Redis).
  • Version control (Git).
  • Tools to document APIs (ideally Swagger).
  • DevOps and why it’s beneficial to development teams

  1. 1. Submit your CV

  2. 2. We’ll call you

    Our Recruitment Team is now on the case. We’ll be in touch within 24 hours for a short call (about 20 mins) to discuss you, the role and what you want to do in the future.


  3. 3. First interview

    Within 48 hours of the initial call we move to the Interview phase. The first is with one of our Heads, it’ll be a call, video chat or a face-to-face. We’ll dive deeper into your suitability for the role and get into a few more specifics. This will typically last 45mins to an hour.

  4. 4. Final Interview

    The final interview will be at our Central London office, for this the Head of your team will be joined by one of our Founders. We’ll look to see how you’ll fit in with the Daemon Team, this will include covering the role in depth and more on the Daemon culture, values and vision for the future.

  5. 5. Offer/Feedback

    We make a commitment to come back to you within 24 hours after your final interview. This will be with an offer to join the team or detailed feedback as to why you weren’t successful this time.
